“Mt. Pilchuck” explores issues of navigation, intuition and physical proximity through creating a situation where one place inhabits another. Carefully balanced rock cairns are placed in each bunk. Text is excerpted from field guides and the mountain summit registry. Field recordings from Mt. Pilchuck are piped in to create a connection with the natural world. This work was installed in a small camping cabin as part of a temporary “museum of sound” in one of Seattle’s public parks.
