VMG is a term used in sailing and navigation to describe the speed of a vessel towards a desired waypoint. It defines progress relative to wind, tide, and current.
Understanding the forces and factors that shape our environment is key in locating position, responding to change, and deciding where to go from here. In the studio, as in sailboat racing, VMG is far more important than straight-line speed.
Velocity Made Good is the studio of Perri Lynch and collaborators. With keen sensitivity towards our surroundings, we draw inspiration from navigational systems, natural processes, and landmarks that influence our sense of direction and lead us onward.
Please contact VMG to discuss projects, collaborations, and with comments. We look forward to hearing from you.
